Project overview

This was a project for Hachette Filipacchi and Digital Spy of London which we worked on in June of 2010. We were asked to build an interactive Flash-based advertising campaign for the new Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 Mini. The graphic design and guidelines were supplied to us by HFUK and we set about building an interactive experience to promote the new phone on the Digital Spy website (www.digitalspy.co.uk), one of the UK’s most popular websites.

The Process

The Flash interactive elements needed to reflect the fun and personality of the X10 Mini; to this end, HFUK devised a campaign offering as much interactivity to the user as possible. We developed a MPU Flash element which displayed a rolling animation using branded assets from both HFUK and Sony Ericsson, and which also invited viewers to click on several interactive areas. These would activate a range of features.

The campaign was to be trafficked via DoubleClick. We used their API to create the MPU and child elements including a popup video. The video was displayed as if running on the X10 phone (pictured).

The campaign successfully took place during June 2010.
