I came across a problem with firefox and flash when using wmode=transparent. Elements were just going crazy, redrawing in different places and generally misbehaving. Anyway, after many tears and much futile googling I found that the problem was to do with flash filters (eg. glow). Firefox just can’t cope with flash filters in transparent mode. So the solution is to remove them.
